Mid Afternoon Mudslide

Sometimes you just have to treat yourself.  Mudslides are sweet, savory, and a quick pick me up for a lazy afternoon.

So this was the traditional mudslide recipe.  Vanilla ice cream, ice, milk, chocolate syrup, and Kahlua; blend and done.

The main trick to a great mudslide is finding a sexy glass, and making some designs in it with the chocolate syrup.  This can also be done with grenadine for daquiri's and other frozen adult beverages.  I took the simple up and down connecting line approach with this glass.  If you are using a martini or wine glass, you can drissle the chocolate while rotating the glass stem in between your thumb and index finger for a nice vortex or ring look.

Always remember, you eat with your eyes first, nose second, and mouth third.  So appearances are everything when it come to food.  Use ingredients that contrast in color, textures, and flavors.  Use spices and peppers that are aromatic, and make sure you can smell your food before its close to your nose.  Pick healthy and hearty ingredients that will taste good, of course, and don't use food past its prime.
